SHOULD I TAKE COMMUNION IN STATE OF SIN, EITHER MORTAL OR VENIAL??

Today at mass, the priest-in-charge rebuked those who don’t receive communion due to sin.

He further said sinners can receive holy communion that it washes away sins, it was created for that purpose, citing Elijah in the Bible as an instance, when he was told to rise and eat in other to be strengthened, he also made mention of the words used during Eucharistic Observances.

According to the teachings of the Catholic church, one who takes Communion in sin takes into himself condemnation and thus, making it a sacrilege

A couple of things here:

NO ONE can take Holy Communion. You can only receive Holy Communion from a priest, deacon or licensed Extraordinary Minister.

You should never receive the Most Holy Eucharist in a state of sin. If the sin is mortal, then you MUST go to confession and be absolved before receiving Holy Communion. If the sin is venial, there are dozens of ways, in addition to confession, to have it absolved; the devout use of Holy Water, a sincere and complete Act of Contrition
The Penitential Rite at the beginning of Mass, etc.

The sky is the threshold, the base necessary is for you to be truly contrite and genuinely offer your sins to God and ask for His forgiveness.

To receive Holy Communion in a state of unrepented serious sin is grievously sinful. So make sure you repent of your sin by at the very least, making a good Act of Penance at the beginning of Mass.

The question still remains, SHOULD I TAKE COMMUNION IN STATE OF SIN, EITHER MORTAL OR VENIAL??
